Demi is a long-time resident of the shelter and is very ready to find her forever home. She is looking for a leader who has excellent leadership skills to help her make a successful transition from kennel life to home life. The adopter must have previous dog handling experience and be able to set boundaries and establish themselves as the leader of the pack. Demi is a dog of very discretionary taste who gets along with those dogs of her choosing; Demi cannot be forced, SHE must decide. Demi is incredibly smart, loves to learn, and does it quickly. Enrichment would be a great tool to expand her mind and help in the bonding process. She loves to cuddle and will bond with her new human quickly once that human earns her respect. If you have children under 16-years-of-age in your home, Demi would not be a good fit. Her new home would also need to be free of small animals, including cats. Helping Strays will require any interested applicant to meet Demi here at the shelter a couple of times to get acquainted and begin establishing a relationship before taking her home. Helping Strays’ staff will work with the potential adopter to help establish that successful transition spoken about previously. Apply to meet this “thinker” and “lover” and open the door to adoption that Demi has been waiting for so long.
Demi is three years old and weighs 66 pounds. Be sure to watch Demi’s videos.
Demi’s adoption fee is $200; she is microchipped, spayed, and up to date on vaccines.
